Not all foundation cracks indicate structural failure. Minor concrete shrinkage hairline cracks occur near the surface during curing, but expanding stair-step mortar cracks, vertical foundation splits, and diagonal wall fractures signal active footing settlement. When subsoil shifts, compresses, or washes out beneath your home, the foundation loses support and snaps under shear stress. We install helical piles directly beneath failing sections to stop structural movement before cracks compromise the building envelope.
Sealing a structural crack without lifting the footing leaves the building out of alignment. We excavate small, localized access pits along the affected foundation wall to expose the bottom of the concrete footing.
